巴纳德学院（Barnard College）是一所中等大小的私立文理学院，成立于1889年，位于美国东部纽约曼哈顿晨边高地，占地面积约4英亩，只开设本科学位项目，是美国历史上著名的“七姐妹学校”成员之一，至今仍保留着女子学校的地位。
 
巴纳德学院于1900年起并入哥伦比亚大学，但仍保有独立的董事会与财政机构，而学士学位则由哥伦比亚大学授予。校名是以原哥伦比亚学院（现哥伦比亚大学）院长费雷德里克·巴纳德（Frederick Augustus Porter Barnard）的名字命名的。

六、申请提示：
巴纳德学院位于纽约曼哈顿,是一所隶属于哥伦比亚大学的女子文理学院,也是一所有着独立法律地位校园、资金和预算、管理机构以及教职员工的女子学院,东海岸“七姐妹女校之一”。

1864年,弗雷德里克巴纳德出任哥伦比亚学院(哥伦比亚大学前身)校长,提出的目标是办成“最重要州中最重要城市里的最重要的学院”,其开创性举措之一,是在1879年提出招收女生,实现男女同校,但一直遭到反对,直到10年后的1889年,董事会才妥协,同意创办一所附属于哥伦比亚大学的女子学院,并以当年去世的巴纳德的名字命名。94年后的1983年,哥伦比亚大学终于实现了男女同校。

巴纳德学院值得称道的一点就是因为属于哥伦比亚大学,可以在本校上课,也可以穿过马路到哥大选课,而且毕业时拿哥伦比亚大学的文凭。学校最出色的专业是城市规划、音乐、戏剧等。该校校园仅有4英亩,但位于纽约市曼哈顿百老汇繁华街区之中,各种资源极为丰富。

中国近代著名政治家、思想家康有为的女儿康同壁1909年毕业于这里,是该校的第一批国际生,也是亚洲第一位留学生。她当时的理想是:“等我念完书,我将回国唤醒祖国的妇女。我特别关心妇女参政权,望能唤起中国妇女实现其权利。”2009年3月,巴纳德学院在北京召开“康同壁研讨会”,以纪念这位杰出的中国女性毕业100周年和巴纳德学院创校120周年。
